Óscar Méndez, CEO and founding partner of Stratio and co-founder of Paradigma Digital, has more than 15 years of experience launching and managing successful companies. Stratio, a start-up that is reinventing the digital panorama by offering large corporations a full digital transformation, was launched in 2014 as a spin off of Paradigma Digital, a company mainly focused on web technologies created in 2007.
Prior to this, he was Chief Technological Officer and member of the board for IT Deusto, for IP Soluciones -in which he was also founding member- acquired afterwards by Oesía Group, and for Cálculo S.A. He has also lead the development and innovation of Indra.
He began his career as a Software Developer in Daimler AG in Munich and GE in London. He received his BSc in Telecommunication Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid in 1992 and his MSc in Business Administration from the IESE Business School.
Having had the opportunity to work in the US, UK, Germany and Spain, Óscar has been able to accrued extensive knowledge in the field of technology. He has always envisaged where technology is going next and has been an early adopter of Big Data technologies such as MapReduce and Spark.
Óscar has also been a visiting professor at various academic institutions and universities. He is the founder of Big Data Spain, the second biggest Big Data conference in Europe (currently on its seventh edition).
As a speaker, he has been invited to some of the main technological events, such as Spark Summit, PC World Big Data, Strata Conf and Cassandra Summit, among others.
